Data for LO3


LO3 Data

In BMW Plant Oxford there are several motors driving extractor fans above the paint shop. These fans are crucial to maintaining the airflow and therefore the quality of the paint finish. The bearings of the motors are monitored on a daily basis and readings averaged over 3 months.  The table below shows the data collected. A ‘caution’ temperature is anything 48°C and above. A ‘danger’ temperature is anything 52°C and above. It takes 6 hours to change bearings, during which time the paint shop cannot operate.
